This was excerpted from tapes of WBUR-FM's Live at Debbie's program recorded in 1974. It is the second track of the second side of 'John Payne's First Alblum' and features him on Flute playing with a mellow rhythm section. Blue in Green was composed by Bill Evans/Miles Davis and is on the iconic Kind of Blue Album.
Silent Jam / John Payne - Tenor Saxophone
This was also excerpted from tapes of WBUR-FM's Live at Debbie's program recorded in 1974 and can be found on 'John Payne's First Alblum', it features John on Tenor Sax. Silent Jam was a spontaneous piece created in concert using the basic feel and first few notes of Zawinul's 'In a Silent Way' as a starting point. On a historical note, the track was forced to leave out a portion of the middle of the jam beacuse of time constraints.
